ETHAN TOBMAN

Born in Montreal, Canada, Ethan Tobman is a director and production designer whose innovative work can be seen in feature film, television, commercials, music videos and print. He directed the award-winning short films, Innuendo and Remote and the innovative music video for Phases "I'm In Love With My Life", for Warner Brothers Records. Tobman also production designed the feature film Room, based which won the Toronto International Film Festival, as well as The Grinder for Fox TV and Wilson for Fox Searchlight.  His magazine cover work includes Vogue, Vanity Fair, Harper's Bazaar, Elle, Rolling Stone, Entertainment Weekly, Time, and Wired. He has production designed and consulted on Superbowl shows, album covers and music videos for Madonna and Beyonce, as well as Lady Gaga, Eminem (Art Direction VMA nominee), OK Go (Visual Effects VMA winner, Art Direction UK MVA winner), MGMT, Taylor Swift, Jay Z, Kanye West, Pharrell, and Daft Punk. He recently designed Beyonce and Jay Z’s “On The Run Tour” and contributed to Madonna's “Rebel Heart Tour”. He has also designed and conceived campaigns for American Airlines, Samsung, Johnny Walker, Cadillac, Google, Fedex, Beats and Coca Cola.

Ethan Tobman is one of the most sought after production designers in Hollywood. He designed the intricate and innovative set for the Academy award winning movie Room (based on this book by Emma Donoghue), and his artistic vision has graced everything from national commercial campaigns for Target and Cadillac, to culture-shaking music videos like Beyonce’s Formation.
